Here are the tests I’ve found to best address the issues that are factors in declining health and cancers. William M Lee, MD
Blood Lab Tests
Blood tests recommended at your appointment can be carried out at any lab of your choosing. Please allow 2 to 10 days for results.
Thyroid Lab Testing

- Inflammation: CRP- HS
- Inherited Heart Disease (VAP test)
Saliva Lab Tests
Male and Female Sex Hormones ($320) and Cortisol ($260) ($580 total)
This test must be done first thing in the morning. It can be done on any morning for men and menopausal women. For women who are cycling, the saliva test should be done on the 20th to 23rd day of the cycle. The first day of the period being counted as day one. Do not have anything to drink, brush your teeth or apply lipstick before the test. It may take up to 30 minutes until one tube is half full with saliva. Smelling food or putting a cotton ball between your cheek and gum may be helpful to stimulate saliva production. Read the instructions carefully on the back of the form, especially if you are testing for Cortisol levels as well. I find this test to be most accurate as unlike blood testing, saliva testing gives values for hormones, including cortisol at different times of the day.
Gastrointestinal Testing (stool)
$450. Comprehensive GI Testing looks for yeast, ova and parasites, bacteria, blood, tape worms and a limited food allergy panel to gluten, soy and eggs.
ALCAT Test
Food Allergy, Chemical Sensitivity Test and Mold Test. Price depends on which panel is being done.
The blood draw for this test must be done in the Lee Clinic, LLC. Appointments must be made in the mornings, Monday through Friday to allow for fed-ex pickup.
Heavy Metal Urine Test ($420)
Standard for testing for heavy metals. A DMSA pill is taken before you collect your urine over 6 hours and then send off the urine to the lab. This test includes looking at levels of Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, etc.
Neurotransmitters ($320), Mitochondrial ($420) / Metabolic analysis and Environmental toxins ($420)
Urine tests can be ordered on your own, since the tests come back with complete reports and the nutrients can be provided by The Lee Clinic, LLC after consultation.
Metabolic Analysis and Environmental toxin are two tests that can be combined. When the Metabolic and Toxin Urine tests are combined the cost is $800.
Note: Blood lab tests can be from three to five times more expensive than saliva and urine tests. The technology of these specialty labs has brought unique tests at affordable prices that many insurance companies will reimburse.
